This is cinema as punishment. I watched one episode and couldn’t take any more whipping. I decided I d seen enough when the Underground Railroad was shown as a real train running on tracks underground. Too many modern viewers, unschooled in history will believe this fantasy as fact. The scenes of whippings and S𝒆𝒙 were gratuitously graphic and extended. Don’t expose your families to this torture and distortion. Slavery was awful and immoral and ugly but this portrayal is ridiculous.
