The team has a resemblance with The Guardians of the Galaxy, some weird guy as a main protagonist who doesn't know his origin, a daughter of a villain whom the main character is in love with, a seemingly mindless bag of meat who makes us funny sometimes, a non-talking entity who is understood by everyone and who understands everyone almost without a word and is invincible. That's the resemblance I've found, though, I can't tell that I didn't like it. It managed to present Star Trek lore to a younger audiences in a positive manner, whilst staying canon with Star Trek universe, and that's a success. I'd like to see more sesons of this show to be honest. It keeps attention, It has a linear storyline. it's fun, I felt like I've been watching a comic releif version of Star Trek Discovery, which is good in my opinion. Interesting plot, left with space opened for more seasons (storylines of Gwyn, Chakotay, origin of Murf, finding the maker of Dal, Asencia as a villain, etc).
