The current writers completely miss the target. The reconned Anna... tried to make her a rapist...took almost 10 years off her age. All the young actors are obnoxious. The show glorifies mobsters and hit men as protagonists. They kill off characters that are fan favorites. I started watching GH in the 80s. Sadly, today’s GH bears little resemblance to the golden age of GH. The show focuses on “pets” the execs obviously love. It has become the graveyard for all actors from defunct ABC soaps and ignored vets.

I love the book and recommend that everyone read the book first. However, this movie captures the nostalgia of the book. Some small details are rewritten in the movie but the overall message and overall story are consistent with the book. Parker Stevens is wonderful as Gene. John Heyl captures the essence of Finny. I especially enjoy watching Peter Brush as "Leper." This movie is worth watching.
