SPOILER ALERTS In this Review. Look, I in no way have feelings of wanting to hurt/unalive/abuse etc any infant or child, however; I could 100% be on board and supportive of Emma Robert's character leaving that baby to spend its day alone in the barn. I found myself having feelings of anger and resentment/frustration towards the nonstop crying infant and being able to really empathize with the character having to care for this child on her own whilst dealing with paranormal episodes /psychosis stemming from mental illness. I am not exaggerating when i say this movie was legit 80% of a baby very loudly and obnoxiously crying; another 10% of the time, the baby was either about to cry, or had just finishing crying. I thought because i was distracted from the crying, i was having difficulty following the insanely convoluted story line, but alas, it turns out that the story was indeed just THAT convoluted and quite frankly; had huge plot holes and no explanations, rhyme or reasons for information we were supposed to be gathering. It was as if there were 15 different writers working on this one screenplay and sadly, none of them communicated; which was frankly very disappointing because the message involving Sarah's PPD and being the sole care taker of a child that is special needs or is difficult to care for is something that needs to have a significant more amount of attention being highlighted as a real issue many parents face, especially single parents or parents with an unsupportive partner. This movie felt like it was shot immediately after a focus group got together and gave ideas for a movie mixing fictional horror and the very real horror of Post partum depression/psychosis. It was a bad movie that had the potential to have been an extremely awesome film. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because of the awesome jobs done by the actors.
