All you need to thoroughly enjoy this book is a love of reading. The book has much to offer most any reader - romance, serious medical events, adventure, history, extensive travel, confession, tragedy, importance of family, unique cultural aspects of an Italian-American family, and recorded deep personal feelings. It is the author’s ‘easy read’ writing style that further sets it apart from the typical memoir, as well as his quest for getting everything out of life that he possibly can. A confessed wanderlust, with an ability to make the best out of adverse situations, gives him the life experiences that make the book so very interesting. Emil’s respectful descriptions of the many females involved in various aspects of his life, keeps a reader’s interest as life events unfolded and dictated the changes along the author’s road of life. Each change and or event was stamped into his memory and into what had to be comprehensive and lengthy written notes.
Emil closes his book with what can best be described as he did, “Lessons from my Imperfect Life”. This feature of the ten lessons learned and listed in the last part of the book are worth the price of the book and the enjoyment of reading it to determine the basis for the lessons learned. This book is an absolute winner.
