The show is amazing and authentic. I speak read and write Yiddish fluently, and the language coach did a great job training quite a few actors to speak the language as if they grew up with it. Unfortunately, the subtitle effort is flawed: it states that the Hasidic men in synagogue are praying in Yiddish. That is false. Hasidic Jews don't pray in Yiddish, they pray, as do all Jews who are observant, in Hebrew, however, the congregants are using an Ashkenazic accent when pronouncing the 100% Hebrew prayers. It sounds like Yiddish in some instances, but it is totally NOT Yiddish. I wish that people would stick to what they know to be true. This is not rocket science. Any native-born Yiddish speaker knows this.
