Bought the movie for the parts where Timothy Dalton takes off his glasses or puts his glasses on. The son of a gun just kills his lines, dry as a bone every time, nobody's that good, but he is. Depp was chubby-cheeked but i did some research and it was likely due to the antibiotics; the waters of Venice look beautiful, but they are apparently super-polluted and everyone with scenes in the water got massive doses, Johnny probably more so. Most of the humor in the movie is tongue-in-cheek and delivered by Depp. He is subtle, but you will laugh out loud when it hits. Ms. Jolie was never more lovely. Cinderella-chic in Italy by candlelight mostly. The location, the supporting cast, the costumes, sets and music, the different rhythm of Italy all made this a comfortable getaway movie- just press go and drift along.
