Never read the books but I’m a huge fan of storylines around witches so I tuned in with great expectation because of the Anne Rice name. Took me 3 tries to get through the 1st episode. I just had no clue what the heck was going on. Everything just felt rushed and all wrong without any character development what so ever. Glad I just caught the 1st episode on Amazon Prime and didn’t buy an AMC subscription just to watch this series or I would have been pissed. Right now I’m just disappointed. And when I saw the post-episode explanation, I knew there were probably a lot of people left feeling just like me thinking “What did I just watch"? Maybe it gets better??

Deserves a 6 star review for accurately portraying the drive, will, determination, and grit necessary to defeat your biggest opponent……yourself. The life lessons craftily dished out in this movie can aptly be applied to so many non-sports related circumstances. Previously, not a huge fan of Sandler, but now I absolutely am a super fan after this performance!
