Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Mine is that this movie is incredible. I've seen it twice and am going for the third time this weekend with my mother because she loves the original (as do I). The whole cast is great, but Glen Powell is definitely my favorite part. Rotten Tomatoes even recognized his charisma in their consensus, and they're definitely not wrong. On top of that, the camera work is some of the best I've ever seen. The soundtrack is awesome. You can tell how much Lee Isaac Chung and the cast cared about this movie. I think even people who aren't familiar with the 1996 Twister can enjoy this. My favorite film now ❤

Three stars simply because the first half of the movie is SO boring. If you do watch it, skip to 44:08 when Mindy and Alec, the phroggers, show up. The two of them CARRIED this movie and are the only reason I didn't forget about it after the first watch.

Horror has never been my main genre, so I never expected to get so attached to Eli Roth. But my mom is a big fan and Cabin Fever is one of her favorite movies, so I decided to give it a watch myself. I LOVE IT. I don't care what the critics say, Eli has a gift. Even at the most squirm-inducing moments of his films, I don't get up and say "I'm done watching this" like I do with many other horror movies. His detractors just jealous because they're not horror mavens like he is, and they never will be. If you get a chance to watch Cabin Fever, DO IT. And then check out Eli's other work (especially the first two Hostel movies). You won't regret it 💖

I just watched this for the first time the other day and it is now my favorite movie. The entire cast nails it but there is no doubt in my mind that this movie would not have been a masterpiece without Sean Penn. This movie honestly belongs to him; I believed every single line and action he performed as Mick.

I read the book just eleven days before this film came out because the trailer looked SO good. I finished the book in just ten hours, and then when I went to see the movie, I absolutely adored it just like I adored the book. All the performances were amazing, especially Charlie Plummer as Adam. He truly captured the Adam from the book; I can hear his voice when I read it now. 10/10 recommend <3

I watched The Pianist for the first time last night... and dear God, it was absolutely incredible. I often comment several times throughout movies. For example, if a character does something stupid, I'll go "What are you doing, are you crazy?" But once it got a little over half an hour into the film, I was completely speechless and silent for the rest of it. I didn't want to speak and disrupt the film. As hard as it was to watch, I know films like this are supposed to be that way. If it had been easy to watch, it wouldn't have been realistic. Now for the biggest praise of all; the absolutely immaculate performance of Adrien Brody as Władysław Szpilman. There's times when you watch something and it's like "They knew exactly what they were doing when they cast that person as this character." That's exactly how I felt watching Adrien. If they ever decide to remake the film for whatever reason, then I hope they use de-aging effects on him so that he can play the role again, because no one else can play Władysław Szpilman. The Oscar Adrien won for his performance was very much deserved. 10/10 definitely recommend this film.

Everything about movie is impeccable. The CGI and special effects, the action scenes, the performances... it's all a non-stop thrill ride. But what has to be my favorite thing about the film is the determination Jack has to rescue Ann. He's a playright from New York; running through jungles to save people is not his forte. But he doesn't care; he's not going to leave Skull Island until he saves Ann, even if it means having to do it by himself. 10/10, five stars, fantastic movie. Definitely one of my favorites.

The one star is for Dylan Minnette, whose talent was COMPLETELY wasted on a plot that was very poorly written and contains more holes than a piece of Swiss cheese. Logan's father literally gets killed off after ONE scene that was less than five minutes long. So, what, we're supposed to care about his death because he's the husband and father of the main characters? That's ALL we learn about him before he dies, so there's really nothing to care about. Naomi has got to be one of the most unlikable movie characters ever. She tells her sister Allison that she and Logan won't be able to stay in their house after her husband's death because they "can't afford the rent." So why doesn't she just go and get a job instead of taking Logan away from his home and school and friends? Why don't they just stay with Allison and her family wherever they're living until they get back on their feet? Or at the very least, Naomi could have looked for a job while they were staying at the mountain house, but nope. She doesn't even do that. The supporting characters were written even more poorly than the main characters. Martha was presented as a potential part to play in all of the weird stuff that was going on, but then it turned out she just had Alzheimer's disease. Overall, she had absolutely no impact on the plot and existed simply just to help pad the runtime. Chris made absolutely no sense at all; they met him in a clothing store, then he was at their house because he "saw the for sale sign," then Naomi runs into him while she's out picking up her pictures, and then Logan calls him and asks him to come stay over at their house after the break-in... and then he's dead in the car with no sign of a struggle or even a scream. That's it. Those are the only parts of the movie that he appears in. We know nothing about him other than he's a clothing store clerk, so like Logan's father, there's nothing to care about when he dies. And furthermore, what kind of mother allows a man that she barely knows spend the night in the house with her and her TEENAGE SON? I know Logan was the one who called him, but still, Naomi could have said no when he showed up. And lastly, the killer is just there. There's no backstory, there's no motivation given... we don't even find out who he is. So overall, if you're thinking about watching movie, don't. Instead, watch the Elvis the Alien review about it on YouTube. It's 100% better.

I didn't go see this when it first came out in 2017 because people were saying it sucked. But I like Cara Delevingne and I've recently started becoming a fan of Dane Dehaan, so today I finally sat down to watch the film for the first time. I don't know what everyone's being so mean about. I absolutely loved this movie. Dane and Cara are brilliant in it. People have to understand that they did not write the script. They did the best they could do with what they were given. And I truly enjoyed both of their performances. The special effects are probably the most beautiful I've ever seen. I really wish now that I had gone to see it in theaters instead of just going off of what other people were saying, because this is definitely one of my favorite films now.

This movie was not easy to watch. But then again, movies such as this are not supposed to be easy to watch. If they are, then they weren't made right. Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal did an amazing job translating this heartbreaking and terrifying story onto the big screen, and the cast was phenomenal (particularly Will Poulter, I feel like the movie just belongs to him). 10/10 definitely recommend.
