I have been a Lucille Ball admirer my whole life. I was hopeful for this movie but was very disappointed and underwhelmed. The timeline of the episode they're working on doesn't match up with other details and they use the wrong apartment set for the episode. The script addresses many headline issues (the infidelity, Frawley's alcohol use, Lucille wanting Vivian to be fat and homely, the pregnancy and accusations of Communist loyalties etc) but doesn't really do any of them justice. Kidman is a phenomenal actress but this wasnt the role for her. The actor that played Desi wasnt a good fit either. The two of them together was even worse. the actors playing Frawley and Vance were great however! Overall the movie felt flat and lucy came off incredibly unlikable. For the love of God and all thing Lucy- someone PLEASE make a biopic that covers the whole magnificent rags to riches american dream story of Lucille Ball. Her WHOLE story! There was so much more to her life than I Love Lucy and Desi Arnaz. It's a story worth telling!!
