Novel takes on zombie lore and striking images fail to overcome tired movie tropes in the third act. The acting is mostly solid but the script's weaknesses and predictable beats in the conclusion prove unsatisfying. Some scissors could fix some of this but the oomph of the crescendo was undermined by the needless urge towards last-girl-ism. And one character's emergence from a literal plot hole just left my family puzzled. I don't know if they shot it, but I'd have preferred a food-truck ending.
