This whole series gives me a reasonable amount of emotional roller coaster ride. I experienced all kinds of emotions throughout this show. Whether it is petty, heartbreaking, happiness, love, or especially empathy, this show has it all.
Move to Heaven is a story of a young man (Han Geu-ru) with Asperger syndrome who works as a "trauma cleaner", along with his uncle who just got released from prison. The whole series is pretty much sentimental. It gives me these real and raw emotions that I think many viewers could relate to.
Unlike many other Korean series, this series does not seem to have a villain. Regardless, the storyline goes smoothly with mesmerizing plots focusing on the relationship between Geu-ru and his uncle, and their job as trauma cleaners.
The series emphasizes the connections and empathy toward the deceased people. As "trauma cleaners", they are able to go through people's belongings and decide what should be kept or thrown away. I found this to be a very powerful narrative. It allows them to see and understand the dead's perspective and connect with them. In most cases, they were able to fulfill the wishes of those people as well.
Aside, the actors and actresses had done a very good job. I have never watched any of their works before, but I was blown away by their skillful acting - especially Tang Jun-sang (as Han Geu-ru). He portrayed his character that has Asperger syndrome very well. I would definitely check out his other works!
Overall, I highly recommend this show to anyone, really. I would particularly suggest it to those who are not into the romance genre of Korean series. Not only it is entertaining, but it also makes us realize a lot of things in our life. It taught us to appreciate our surroundings, the people, the belongings, and to have empathy toward others.
