As all the 1 star reviews show this film is not for everyone. It is a slow paced, slow burn, visually beautiful film. It explores the impact of parental neglect on two brothers who lack the capacity for emotional connection. Peter (Timothy Spall) internalises his pain and grows up into an unseen but decent adult. Daniel externalises his pain and is ambitious and corrupt. Peter copes with depression and isolation by understanding the weather, taking comfort in the fact that "something is happening" or at least "promises" to. When he is cut adrift by job loss he naturally seeks out Daniel who lives in Benidorm. We are treated to scenes of the best and the worst of this Brit riddled landscape. Deliberately, the entire film focuses on the largely invisible life of Peter whilst we never actually get to see the flamboyant Daniel. In simple terms, Peter finds himself whilst searching for his brother. In simple terms, the 1 star reviews are searching for a plot that is deliberately not there.
