So genius, it will take you a while to realise it. Nowadays repeated movie tropes are so visible from afar that half of directors try to exceed expectations while conceding they must follow the predictable and the other half try to ignore expectations completely. Tarantino blends real life chaos with cerebral satisfaction perfectly with this one. That, coupled with dedicated celluloid 70s cinematography and sound, it gave this mid 30's guy (me) what I thought had been lost to Nolanism. It gave me what I wanted but I didn't know I wanted it til' the movie was done.
