Where to start? This show suffers from so many flaws, beginning with terrible writing, full of cliches, as well as cardboard stiff acting, god-awful soundtrack and some of the worst directing I’ve seen lately. If I were to go into more detail, I would give Departure more time and attention than what it deserves. The show is good only as background noise or to binge-watch on a day when you need to fully disconnect your brain.

Night Country (season 4) is as good as the first season of True Detective. Jodie Foster and Lali Reis’ performances were impeccable, complemented by an amazing ensamble of supporting actors. The landscape played a key role, too, becoming a relevant character itself, setting the mood and increasing the suspense. On top of that, photography, sound and music were also top notch. My only complain is that the season could have benefited from at least one more episode, because I feel as if there was a rush to end the show in only six episodes. I really hope there’s another season with Jodie Foster in it, though I doubt it, given the anthology format of the show.
