I do not think anyone who made this movie has ever played any of the Borderlands games.
Iโve been a huge fan of the franchise for a while now and I knew going into it, there were to be some liberties taken so I knew Iโd have to let somethings go, but there are just tons of problems with this movie that goes against things in the games.
I am not saying any of the actors were bad at acting, but these characters were all played by people who were way too old! Cate Blanchett is in her 50โs but when they have this movie take place, Lilith would be in her mid 20โs. Jamie Lee Curtis, who is 65 is playing someone who is suppose to be in her 20โs as well. Same goes for Kevin Hart and Ariana Greenblatt. I am not saying they are bad, but bad choices for these characters in respects to time and age of the characters.
The next major issue is that the movie is full of continuity errors. Roland and Lilith wouldnโt have met Tannis until the events of borderlands one, Lilith wouldnโt havenโt known her when she was eight years old. Tiny Tina isnโt a clone. She has confirmed parents in the games. Her parents were experimented on by Hyperion, between borderlands one and two. Her โdadโ would never have been the CEO of The Atlas Corporation. Again, at this time, Tina would have been very young(under the age of eight) Lilith wouldnโt have been able to use her siren power of teleportation without knowing how to phasewalk first and even before she developed her siren tattoos. The siren tattoos would have been on her after the death of another siren if she was granted them.
There is an ample amount of other issues in it, some I can forgive because I understand the need for creative liberty, but I canโt forgive some of the outlandish overlooks that conflict with the events that take place in the games.
