I found Saltburn decidedly underwhelming, and the beginning of the film to be quite boring, so much so in fact, that I considered switching it off. But I decided to persevere with it because it was set in the beautiful city of Oxford, at least the first part was. Cut to Saltburn, a grand ancestral pile, where the plot continues with a distinguished cast, and I found myself wondering if the film would improve, but alas, for me it didn’t. I found the plot shallow, voyeuristic and distasteful, and I knew I would have been well hacked off if I had spent time and money to watch it in a cinema.
