It was gripping. Frightening. Sad. And totally fantastic. So well made that it is an absolute “must see” for all young 21st Century filmmakers.
I think it should be remade - and updated - in the USA because most Americans will not understand what is being said in this heavily dialect-filled British film. (Can American filmmakers make it with all the same unrelenting tragedy, grit and horror? Can they avoid injecting a love story and macho heroes? I dunno. But I would like to watch it again, without my hubby asking; “what did he say?” throughout the film.)
I think Donald Trump should watch it. Better yet, no. The response of a totally narcissistic and vengeful president, completely lacking empathy, might be unpredictable.
