In order to create a meaningful story, you have to make people care about about the characters - literally storytelling 101. Incredibly lazy writing. Alfred being injured by the bomb ( & seconds later finding out he’s fine ) is a poor attempt to make us care about the Batman. No plot twist or anything that gives us an “ aha “ moment, it’s a generic plot line from which you can easily infer what is about to happen next.
