Better than expected, and I had high hopes too. Convincingly acted by both Māori and Pakeha involved, and it appeared authentic to the history and essence of the times in matching the rugged environment of the NZ West Coast with the uneasiness, insecure and politically unstable nature of first contact between colonisers and the Tangata Whenua, the indigenous peoples people of New Zealand.
