I saw the movie on its premiere, and it was great, but they did deviate from the source material a lot. They made Peach a fighter when she's typically portrayed as a dainty princess, and the monkeys had their own kingdom which is cool, but it deviates from the source material too much for me to rate it any higher. I liked the reference to Foreman Spike and all the other references to various games Mario made appearances in though.
