When I was told that the title of the new Thor movie was going to be "Love and Thunder", I was immediately gripped with anticipation of seeing Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman participate in an evening of softcore pornography spliced into bloody terrorscapes in a way that only a modern boxoffice success franchise could deliver. As you might have guessed, I saw neither pornography nor terror in this trip to my local theatre. What I saw was a marvel of modern cinema. I saw actors, actresses, dialogue, a plot, and closing credits. I mean, what more could you ask for from a movie?
