Karla Flores

I found this book quite underwhelming. I was disappointed by the simplicity of the plot, and underdevelopment of the central characters. I was never emotionally invested in Kya's character and predicted the investigation's conclusion very early on. Plus, too many of the plot turns seemed more convenient than believable. That being said, the author's description of the marshlands was quite impressive. I have never been particularly fond of this type of landscape, but the author was able to convince me wholeheartedly of its tremendous beauty.
