Moxie entails the story of Vivian creating Moxie - a series of zines that encourage the females (and males) at her school to take a stand to Mitchell Wilson, a narcissistic bully. Throughout the book, it was clearly evident how REALISTIC it was. The plot made perfect sense and encouraged me to think about equality and making a change. The drawings of the zines were also extremely cool and I loved their decoration and words and pictures chosen. I do not believe that there was a downside to this book - I couldn’t put it down! I recommend this book to: THOSE 12+ - coarse language, strong themes FEMINISTS - the book ignited a fire in me I thought I no longer had ! ANYONE INTERESTED ! Props to Amy Poehler and her fantastic writing!

Out of my Mind follows Melody, a 10-year-old girl with cerebral palsy, as she struggles through year 5. Sharon M Draper’s writing depicts Melody’s thoughts and struggles beautifully. I felt Melody’s anger and frustration, I felt her sadness and her joy; I was on a rollercoaster of emotions and there was no getting off. Along with this, I'm not one to show emotions to books - I don't usually cry or laugh even in the darkest or funniest scenes, but quite a few times in this book I found myself laughing. Now, I only gave this book four stars, because there are some minor downsides. First, I found the story a bit hard to follow at points. It wasn't often, but it was there. And second, I wish the ending was a bit better. It was great still and I recommend you read to the end, but it wasn't the one I was expecting. Overall, this book is fabulous and I recommend it to: • KIDS 10+ - It might be too dark for some younger kids, but I'd recommend taking a flip through and seeing if it's the right fit for your child. • BOOK LOVERS - 100% recommend. • AND ANYONE LOOKING FOR A GOOD READ THAT’S NOT TOO LONG - 👍.

Heartstopper entails the story of rugby lad Nick and drummer Charlie, two students of Truham Grammar School for Boys, as they become friends and maybe something... more. As I read this, I really noticed how real the characters felt. I could feel their emotions and their confusion and I was cheering them on the whole way. Another pro of the books is the cute and detailed drawing that brought the story to life, but most of all, the best part was the ROMANCE. It was built perfectly and made SENSE. It wasn't rushed and it wasn't too slow and it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. It was also a great representation for the LGBTQIA+ community. I honestly can't find anything I disliked about this whole book. I RECOMMEND HEARTSTOPPER TO: • ANYONE 12+ - the coarse language. • DIE-HARD ROMANCE FANS - self-explanatory. • ANY GRAPHIC NOVEL FANS - I mean, the drawings just make the story perfect! All in all, Alice Oseman did a great job. Big round of applause to her.
