Only the names of the characters are based on the Earl Stanley Gardner books. Everything else is a deviation. In the books Mason is sauve , sophisticated and a gentleman. Here he is umkempt and uncouth, a pvt eye not a lawyer. None of the books had any sex or foul language, the series is just spewing it. Very disappointing.
