I have been an admirer of Sam Waterston's work on film for years, and his portrayal of the philosophy professor on the verge of giving his final lecture before retiring after a long teaching career did not let me down. I love films like this that are made up of several sub plots that connect well to support the overall theme. In this case, use whatever means that works to be "put under" from the harsh light of reality. Aside from Sam Waterston, all cast members were matched well for their roles, including the two young sisters, especially the older of the two. At just over 90 minutes, its a perfect length; it never drags; no wasted scenes.
