After watching this show, I have even more distain for pompous lawyers.
I appreciated the debates over colonial issues, but it took far too long to get to the point. I also agree with others that this was an attempt by some Japanese to rewrite the facts of history and paint the Japanese fascists as victims.
Basically, the show was an attempt to justify the Japanese fascists horrible crimes, because "war was not illegal" at the time. A notable example was suggesting that Truman would be charged with a war crime for dropping the atomic bombs if the Japanese fascists were convicted. [Yes, the atomic bombs were terrible, but they saved millions of American and Japanese lives - without them, America would have been forced to invade the home islands.]
Frankly, I'm surprised how lenient the tribunal was for many of the defendants. Seven years imprisonment seems a bit light for this lot.
