Borderline waste of time. Was looking forward to finally watch a feature length “analysis” on one of my favorite films, turns out it’s just The Shining frame by frame being interpreted by people that saw the movie in theaters. Thats great for them, whoever they are, but if you gave me $10 and a dream I’d be able to make a better film than this. Repetitive point of views with 0 actual new footage to add. It was interesting at least to see the potential connections to WW2/genocide of native americans, which I think is historically accurate for not only Kubrick’s life and influence, but the geographic location of the hotel as well. Overall, I was severely disappointed with the lack of effort and carelessness in creating this entire “film”. If you can even call it that. YouTubers make much more profound video essays everyday. Finally, no ending analysis, at all? Seriously? The most debated segment of the movie completely left out? Waste of time and resources, could’ve rewatched the actual movie and made up a story myself. Hated it.
