Mike Flanagan has this ability to build tension and create awesome characters that you love and hate. There are so many moments in this series where I found myself so engaged in the writing that I had to pause the show just to marvel at it. There's a connection of spiritually and science intertwined with mythic monsters and it is beautifully done.
