The book ghost stories, which is retold by rosemary border is a collection of 6 short spooky and unsettling stories which are not spine chilling but interesting. these 6 tales take place in the Victorian era or in the late 19th century to early 20th century. each of these stories are written in such a way that it is not boring but also not extremely scary . the main characters in this book are curious. . each main character in this book encounter with creepy people or find themselves in strange situations or have unsettling experiences . the stories are given a good background and this makes the story seem more engrossing I feel like the author has done a great job in making the stories fascinating but not terrifying. my personal favourite was the story of smee which is a spooky little story about a game . when it was played some paranormal incidents started to occur which made everyone in the game a little shaken. at last the main character tony encounters Brenda ford. a young girl who didn't speak to him much ( except telling him her name ) . the plot twist here is that girl is the person who fell down from the back stairs and died years ago. this twist made the story more eerie . But the book doesn't give you the chills and lacks the spookiness that ghost stories are supposed to have .but it is a great book which is really good for reading to improve English and grammar. so at last it is a nice short spooky book which I would recommend to the students who are at the intermediate level of reading and also to the people who are beginners at reading ghost stories. thank you
