As a fan of both the rock Dwyane Johnson and chris evens seeing them team up together is a delight. The story is pretty generic santa or red one is taken hostage and chris Evans a bounty hunter with his own demons is assigned and tasked to find him and bring him home, aided by the rock. While many have slated this movie already I for one was a little surprised at it, yes it's a bit all over the place, but it does have some pretty decent special effects, a story that kind of brings home the xmas message and ok it's not littered with jokes like home alone or the like, but it zips along at a fair lick, and when the action and set pieces do arrive they are what they are, bonkers over the top and fun. End of the day while adults may sniff there nose up at this and prefer more a bad santa style vibe, this is a holiday movie where the family can go, sit for 2 hours and have a night thinking about the season, not every movie based around xmas has to be straight forward delight and hammer home a festive message, they just have to allow you to escape for a bit, stop thinking about things and enjoy whats to come, for me this movie did that and seeing my daughters face with.the abominable snowmen, and santa that to me is more priceless than total sentiment this time of year. Overall rating 8/10 could.of been funnier effects are decent story little lack luster, but it's xmas what more could anyone want
