It's not good guys. The relatively unknown director/ writer/ show runner pitched this show Night Country to HBO and they shoehorned it in as a Season 4 of True Detective. The only reason it has such good reviews on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes is because all seasons are lumped together. "Season 4" is laughable at times- filled with cliches and tropes. Not only will you have to suspend belief but also reason and common sense. If you think it's good, well I guess ignorance is bliss.
