Terrible third instalment of an otherwise brilliant franchise. The first 20 minutes were amazing and had me on the end of my chair, then the rest of the film was left dragging as slowly as a legless zombie.
The film lacked plot or cohesion and focussed more on humour and absurdity than an actual story line. Multiple plot holes, strange references to things that are never followed up and an overall disappointment to those who enjoy the horror genre. I waited so long for this to come out, the trailer makes it look amazing but I felt like I was watching a fever dream of 4 different films rolled into one
So many questions,
Why did the pregnant zombie/rage virus woman make friends with the human woman to give birth and hold her hand?
How did the doctor survive all those years alone without food? And without being eaten?
Why didn’t he kill the alphas and instead just tranq them to let them hunt again? And where did all the morphine come from to last all those years?
How did that tranq knock out the alpha that was built like a brick house but only phase the little boy slightly?
Why all the ding dongs? Had all clothes completely gone by then?
Why the references to the fish?
How did the house collapse? And the alpha was stalking them and the dad said he was waiting for them to leave but this wasn’t the case
Why didn’t the dad go try to find them?
Why jimmy savil? Why the power rangers at the end?
Were the crows significant? For some reason?
SO MANY QUESTIONS.
This was a poor attempt at trying to teach life lessons about death by a doctor who somehow survives the mainland alone. The mum knew she had cancer but still let her son take her away to find a quack to confirm it when she admitted she knew when she was acting weird. What a bunch of shit!
