Unfortunately, it was disappointing. There was a dimension of depth missing. Frankly Alice was a mysterious character, who noone likes, so her death is no great tragedy. Nuances or scenes displaying why she was so troubled or nervous might draw some empathy with her character.
I have explored the precious Highlands of Victoria, the expanse and majestic grande "forces of nature" are much better displayed with a few more drone views, adding to the vast emptiness and serene wonder that Aaron lived as a youngster.
... Anyway, sorely short of script or character depth, Bana does well, but there's stories that leave us guessing too much information. The irrelevance of the drug problems is a subplot with no real purpose.
Seems amateur and distanced. The music is so loud it overwhelms initial dialogue.
