Blonde is a overwhelmingly compelling movie. This movie only focuses on the struggles and downfall of Norma, not even bothering to show the true Norma. For example, Bohemian Rhapsody focuses on only Freddieโs diagnostic of aids. Not denying that Norma lived a difficult and tragic life but whoโs to say she didnโt have ANY happy moments in her life? Therefore, focusing on the events leading to her deaths rather than her legacy and career. Blonde describes and perseverance Norma as only an object and not fully persuading her full potential she has and had to offer. Andrew Dominik on the other hand has fabricated so many scenes almost forgetting that Norma/Marilyn was a HUMAN BEING. Many scenes were very much fabricated as unnecessary nudity scenes and the oral rape scene between Norma and the president, which HAS NO EVIDENCE that it ever happened, meaning it was just added for the hell of the story to make Normaโs eventually kill herself. Regardless of the fact that this movie is based off the FICTIONAL NOVEL by Joyce Carol Oates, she is as much to blame for creating a novel with little to no evidence that some of these events even happened to Norma, therefore perceived Norma as a completely different person. Al ought I do have to say, Ana De Armas performed a brilliant job trying to convey Norma herself, regardless that Normaโs life in the movie, is FABRICATED.
