This was the most amazing and CREATIVE game I've ever played. I just love how the makers of it were able to come up with such an imaginative story and gameplay...I just thought that was wonderful.
Like others mentioned, yes, this is a really short game. By playing kind of sparingly it lasted 3 days (I just wanted to savor it and not finish it all at once) but I would recommend it even though it's short.
The artwork of the characters in the cutscenes seemed a little odd at first, considering that I've been playing some other games that seemed more polished. These reminded me of the "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" stop-motion animation from 1964...a bit stylized. Not that that's a bad thing and it grew on me as I saw it was purposeful and wasn't supposed to be a really "slick" looking game. It just took a little getting used to.
Painting is a lot of fun and I liked getting more of the art pages and more variety of items to paint. Interacting with the genies was a little tricky until I got the hang of it and then it was fun to draw beautiful things for them and make them happy. Then they'd do you a favor in return to advance your progress in the game.
The biggest challenge for me was those awful bullies and in the third segment I had a hard time drawing them away so I could play. Secondly, it took me some time to find all the bulbs and what I'd tell a new player is - just try to paint all the walls! Some spots were dark and hard to see the bulbs. When you start to paint such a wall they light up white and when that segment is done they turn colors, indicating that part is complete.
I totally cried at the end. It's a very sweet story with a good message. It's one I'd have to wait for a while to play again but I would play it again for sure.
