Solid horror story. I really enjoyed the pacing of the book. Starting off slow and then slingshotting towards uncertainty and discomfort. The details of the young couples journey are so easily digestible. The picture starts painting itself. An easy read. An interesting take on the end of the world. It can drone a bit towards the end and the climax could put a lot readers off.
That said, it has some flaws. The author sometime throws every syllable in the thesaurus to describe something in a very droning way. Some adjectives seem like they're forcefully added in for a word count that certain details come off as unnecessary.
Other than that, I like to revisit this book and skim to the gory and scary parts. It reminded me of storm of the century.
