The biggest issue with Short n’ Sweet is its lack of cohesion sonically. Many songs sound dated, unoriginal and uninventive. Themes explored were rather superficial. The album was ridden with lackadaisical songwriting, but I guess that helped to make the occasional quirky lyrics stand out. Big disappointment considering how catchy Espresso and Please Please Please were.
