I was the biggest fan of Ricky Gervais. Animals, The Office, XFM…loved it all. Over the years he has been in decline. Probably since Steve Merchant and Ricky parted company, he lost his edge and himself. Think he’s tried to claw back some kudos but sadly he seems to be sinking deeper. This standup is his worse work yet without a doubt. Same tired routine to offend rather than amuse. Rather than the funny, lovable character he was, he now just comes across an overpaid bully. Sad, as I miss the old Ricky. Don’t bother watching. It’s terrible stuff.

This is an incredible film. The acting and cinematography is second to none. This is what the Joker should have done. A brave and brutally real depiction of a man trying to lead a “normal” life’s decline into madness. Truly brilliant. Dead Mans Shoes crossed with Taxi Driver. Heard of those films?? Watch this.
