I know i am in the minority here, but I ask you just to hear me out. Metroid Dread doesn't come close to the orginal masterpiece that was Metroid Fusion. MD purposely alienates new players with unfair difficulties in levels and boss battles. I can respect that when the orginal Metroid first came out, the experience was similar to MD, however we (gamers and developers) have come along way since then and previous metroid developers have since made the games fun and accessible to every player. Secondly, The story is poorly written and is more of a spiritual successor to MF rather than a direct sequel. In terms of atmosphere, MF had their players cowering in the their seats and the plot twists were phenomal. MF players truely experienced a survival horror like no other game. MD is simply annoying and at max, makes your heart rate speed up when you realise the developers intend to have you fight the same boss for 5 hours. If you are looking to rekindle some of your memories from 2002, I would simply suggest re playing MF. To those players who liked MD, I respect to each their own, but I would strongly suggest you make the time to re play MF as i do believe you will enjoy it far more then MD.
