I had a hard time sitting through it. It was poorly written, light on facts, and the editing was just incomprehensible. They show him growing up in a town, called Dixon, but failed to tell you what state it was in. They show him and Nancy Reagan leaving the White House to get on a helicopter then incomprehensibly there’s a scene where Nancy discovers a negative headline in Newspaper, while they’re in the air, which leads you to wonder where the newspaper came from - and the next scene opens with them in the oval Office - making it look like they got in a helicopter and flew right back to where they started. It didn’t explain the facts surrounding Contra scandal, it didn’t explain how the hostages were released - or what had to happen to get them released. It didn’t explain any of the facts around the assassination attempt, or who was responsible. This was a movie designed to generate feelings of hero worship and dripping with saccharine.
