Betty Witherington

I enjoyed the movie, overall. I thought the three main characters were aptly cast. Lawrence Oliver was convincing in his role and Eddie Albert was such a jerk. I stayed frustrated with his mistreatment of Carrie during the entire movie. Jennifer Jones was a little too campy in her portrayal of Carrie and at times seemed too perky. I didn't really like the ending. I wish it could have ended Ike the book. But, I would recommend the movie to anyone. It is open to interpretation and may have a more favorable assessment of the characters.
