OVERRATED I don’t know why this movie is held in such high regard. It doesn’t tell much of a story. The characters are not very interesting (except for Robert Duvall). I guess the one positive takeaway was it gave me a new perspective on the Vietnam war but I’m not even sure if I believe that perspective is actually an accurate one. The film is also extremely slow. A couple of decent scenes here and there but I will never watch this again or recommend it to anyone

Movie has some good acting but the story is slow and fairly uninteresting. It was a waste of my time to watch it. I kept holding on to the last scene hoping to see something enjoyable, to no avail. The best scene is in the restaurant in the first 10 minutes of the film after that just shut the movie off and make better use of your time.
