Nevaeh Sloan (Babycakes)

To be honest, as someone who used to play silent hill when I was younger this game to say the least was okay. HOWEVER, it does have problems. The gameplay was extremely confusing and pretty repetitive. On the other hand, the story and the way it’s written is pretty grey. The concept I did like was the main character trying to figure out what had happened to her friend while struggling with their own internal problems. However, I felt like the pace of the story was too fast. Which the story should’ve slowly build up so we could be able to understand the story at hand. When it comes to some of the reviews that say the storytelling was bad, yea there were certain things that didn’t make sense or that were flawed. Mainly the allegory of bullying specifically and how certain parts of it were ‘cringey’, but besides that the storytelling wasn’t bad at all, especially since the writers intentions were to spread an awareness as I could mainly tell. Overall, I did find the story comforting (as someone who was struggling with thoughts of suicide), but the gameplay was definitely the cause as to why I personally found the game confusing and stressful , yet not frustrating.
