The book was great when it came to describing the setting and it had a good plot. I even had to stop reading once I was alone in the dark because the twisted murders had frightened me so much.
I wish we got some more detail about the characters before the first person died. I wasn't sure what kind of people Paisley's parents were, it seems like it went back and forth with it. I also wish we got some more background for Reeve, Gibson, Malcom, and Camille.
The fact that "Liam" became the murderer isn't surprising. After it was confirmed that Reeve wasn't the murderer, of course it was Liam. Who else would it be? I do like that for most of the book, we were distracted by the fact that Robert might be another employee so that was a good twist but eventually, it wasn't even surprising once it was revealed. What was surprising though, was Harper being revealed as Roberts helper. It's crazy, and a total surprise. But also kind of dumb, I feel like it was only added because the revelation of Liam being a murderer was so bland that throwing Harper in there would somehow save it.
It was an amazing read and I was invested in all of it but what the hell happened with the end. Did Paisley die? was she saved? does that mean Reeve somehow died too? Is Harper dead? And why would Reeve and Paisley just turn their back on Robert once they saw the boat, isn't it common sense to always be on your toes when you're 30 feet within a murderer ๐ญ?
Even with all of these holes, I can't say I didn't enjoy the book, it did leave me on the edge of my seat and I was very invested. I just wish we got some closure on the ending, what the hell happened to Paisley and the others? Other than that though, I recommend to anyone who enjoys thrillers, suspense, and and little bit of teen drama.
