I'm from Australia and recently borrowed series 3/4 of Silent Witness from my local library. Over time I've borrowed many great UK police series that I'd never seen before until recently, including Vera, George Gently and Touch of Frost all of which I really loved.
Was running out of new options of shows I hadn't seen and spotted a couple of disc sets of Silent Witness and thought it looked rather interesting and I'd give it a go.
Well, sorry. I just do not like it at all. Firstly, I find Amanda Burton aka Dr Ryan very arrogant and what we in Oz would call a bit of a smart arse.
My biggest gripe is all this nonsense about a pathologist running around taking over criminal investigations left right and centre as though this were just a completely normal manner in which a murder investigation were to be conducted. Errrr. Just no, don't think so.
After only 3 episodes I've completely lost interest and will return to the library.
I would rather watch the wonderful Inspector Jack Frost (with the great Sir David Jason ๐) 20 times over, rather than sit through another episode of Silent Witness ๐ฅฑ. What drivel.
How people have managed to watch 25+ series of the show I just can't fathom.
