I was very disappointed. I wanted to watch a movie about aliens, and everyone’s adjustments to the attack, the government’s, families, HOW they actually figure out they have good hearing, and this wasn’t touched on much. The whole point of this movie was to see how Day 1 was, and all we focused on was a girl with terminal cancer wanting pizza. I personally didn’t really connect with any of the characters as I didn’t know much about them to form an attachment to them. I didn’t really believe the friendship of the two characters. Sam was trying to get rid of him half the time… The cat’s existence confused me. I didn’t understand what the purpose of the cat was, as a cat would never be that quiet in a catastrophe like that. I love cats, but I didn’t understand the point of the cat, dogs bark when danger comes, but the cat was very unfazed by the events, especially when there was an alien so close to it in one of the scenes.
