Excellent film and I will need to watch it again just to pick up on more of the cultural & political allusions that slipped by me. Gerwig & Baumbach's screenplay is funny, sad, full of irony, and hits back at the "pro-ignorance/anti-woke" narratives from the right wing defenders of patriarchy. The film could be nominated for "best musical" in fact--the choreography was awesome. I really didn't know quite what to expect, but I knew that any film that outraged Trumpists was one I had to support.
Excellent performances all around..including Rhea Perlman's small role acknowledging that a WOMAN was the creator of Barbie was particularly poignant, given how a male-dominated industry profited from her work. And yes, I "Barbenheimered," i did the "Barbie/Oppenheimer double feature."
