I watched "The Karate Kid" again on Friday. It was released in June 1984. It's a popular American film. The movie is available on Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, and Apple TV and lasts 2 hours and 6 minutes. In the summer of 2019, my family and I saw it for the first time on Netflix. Now, let’s get started on the review.
Daniel, a 16-year-old New Jersey teenager who has moved down to Los Angeles, is the main character of the film. He's been pushed around by a kid named Johnny on his second day of being there. Mr. Miyagi, a Japanese plumber became one of his closest friends. Mr. Miyagi went to Johnny's dojo and met with his sensei after witnessing Daniel being bullied. Mr. Kreese and Mr. Miyagi agreed that their students would compete fairly in the All Valley for Under 18 tournament.
Throughout the film, you can see Daniel studying Karate by doing chores, but it turns out that even simple motions like waxing a car may be used for defence. That's not all he's learned; Mr. Miyagi has also taught him lessons that would last a lifetime.
The movie is great, but it was too predictable. As soon as we were introduced to Mr. Miyagi, I knew what was going to happen. It was interesting and enjoyable to watch. The film definitely earns four out of five stars on my behalf. Fans of martial arts, action, coming-of-age stories, and drama must see it. The movie is best suitable for families with children aged 10 and higher because it involves a lot of violence and threats. This brings my review to a conclusion. I hope it was of use to you.
