This movie is personally my favorite movie. Before this film came out, I had an interest in the 1960s and the Tate Murders through the various Criminal Justice Classes i took in High School, and this movie made that love for the 1960s even greater. This movie also influenced me to start writing my own films, which I have written 2 since I first watched it for the first of 25 times in December of 2019.
I loved Brad Pitt's performance in this movie, and his character was probably my favorite in the film.
This film also got me into the other Tarantino films, such as Inglorious Basterds, Django Unchained and Kill Bill Vol. 1, all of which I highly recommend.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood does have some flaws that I have noticed, as it does tend to get boring for the average viewer, and don't show the life of Sharon Tate as much as some of the audience would assume. I did get to see the scenes taken out from the film, and one of them I do believe that should have been kept in the film was when Charles Manson goes to Sharon's housekeeper's villa behind the Tate house, in which the audience would have seen how Manson was at the time, and an example of his irrational behavior, such as at the end of the scene, where he has a freak out when Cliff (Pitt) doesn't wave hello to him.
My favorite scene in the film is actually not the final scene in which the Manson Family invade their home, but rather the Spahn Ranch scenes. I liked to see how these cult followers lived, and the audience got to see where Manson conducted his followers.
I very, very, very much love this film, and I can say confidently that it is currently my favorite movie. If you liked this film, I recommend Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds, Full Metal Jacket and Mel Brook's Silent Movie.
